New flavours mingle with longtime favourites at the Oak Bay Spring Nosh this weekend.
Longtime participants in the 2000 block of Oak Bay Avenue, Oak Bay Seafood, Chef on the Run and The Whole Beast welcome new neighbour Tapas on Oak to the annual event June 17.
The former site of Blighty’s, Tapas on Oak started business nine months ago under Victoria-born Dan Massey who lived in Europe and Asia for more than 20 years.
The event has done nothing but grow since it was created by the Oak Bay Business Improvement Association in 2017. The BIA represents 150 businesses in Oak Bay village, hosting celebrations such as the Christmas festival and trick or treat on The Avenue. The annual spring treasure of tasting includes eateries from farther afield with Vis a Vis as well as Penny Farthing on board and Oak Bay Beach Hotel making dessert this year.
Refreshments are available from Driftwood Brewing/Driftwood Spirits and live music this year includes Teagan and Sonja from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Los Gringos Locos from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
A variety of giant games will be set up to enjoy through the afternoon.
The Oak Bay Village Spring Nosh celebrates food-makers in the community with tasty offerings, music and family fun from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2020 Oak Bay Ave.
