Food foresting topic of Friday talk in Fernwood

Food security, sovereignty touched on in talk by expert

Richard Walker, one of Canada’s most experienced “food foresters,” will speak about creative ways to grow your own food, on Friday (June 15) at the Fernwood Community Centre, 1240 Gladstone Ave.

A question-and-answer period will follow his 90-minute lecture. Attendees are encouraged to bring questions about their own gardens and yards.

The event is sponsored by Permaculture B.C. and is a fundraiser for the Spring Ridge Commons and the fledgling Vancouver Island Permaculture Community Group.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the talk beginning at 7. Admission is $15 and exact change is appreciated.
