MEC Big Wild Challenge raises funds for wilderness conservation on the Island

Take a run on the wildside.

Greater Victoria runners are heading into the wilderness Aug. 10

The MEC Big Wild Challenge raises funds for wilderness conservation on the Island.

Wilderness-lovers are invited to lace up and challenge themselves in a 12-kilometre or 21-kilometrekm trail run along the rugged Coast Trail in East Sooke Regional Park in the MEC Big Wild Challenge.

Participants can sign up as a team or as individuals then help raise funds for wilderness protection.

All of the funds raised through the MEC Big Wild Challenge will go to the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) to protect Canada’s at-risk wilderness.

Mountain Equipment Co-op will match every dollar raised, doubling the impact on protecting Canadian wilderness.
