The South Island Prosperity Project offered a cash gift to the Rainbow Kitchen in Esquimalt Dec. 24 in lieu of a holiday party for SIPP members and associated partners.

The donation covers the cost of a celebration meal for Rainbow Kitchen guests. The kitchen, at the corner of Admirals Road and Lyall Street in Esquimalt, provides hot meals for about 125 to 140 people a day.

The Township of Esquimalt is one of the SIPP member municipalities. SIPP plans to support a worthy organization in a similar way within a member municipality each year.
