Puppy training homes sought for future guide dogs

Greater Victoria households may qualify to take on pups for short-term adoptions

B.C. and Alberta Guide Dog Services and Autism Support Dogs are looking for volunteer puppy raisers in Greater Victoria.

The puppies are being trained to be guide dogs for people who are either visually impaired or living with autism.

Volunteering families would provide a home for the puppies for about eight weeks until they reach between 14 and 18 months old.

Criteria include having someone home during the day, being willing take the dog everywhere and providing a secure outdoor space.
