Spicing up your love life an art form

For many people their relationships over time bear the brunt of the day-to-day grind.

Although paying bills can take a bite out of a heartfelt connection, people need and want that intimacy.

“The mundanity of life wears us down. We lost that spice of life and yet we all yearn for that,” said Fernwood integral coach James Baye, who helps people with their personal and relationship development.

“I think there’s a need and a desire everywhere for intimacy.”

That has inspired him to offer an introductory talk and a four-week workshop on the art of sexual intimacy for people in new or long-term relationships, as well as singles. All sexual orientations are welcome.

“Everyone at any age…has the capacity for intimacy and can learn something from this,” said Baye, adding that he can educate people about the skills they need to improve their relationships with a partner, as well as family, friends and colleagues.

Sexual intimacy is not just about passion in the bedroom. It’s about building love for and opening up more with a partner, Baye explained, an experience that can fill you with joy and light, even bliss.

“Intimacy is profoundly fulfilling,” he said.

The introductory talk Friday (March 4) from 7 to 10 p.m. is $15 in advance or $20 at the door at the Fernwood Community Centre, 1923 Fernwood Rd.

The four-week workshop is March 19, 26, April 2 and 9, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Cost is $100 per person or $180 per couple. Both events are for 19 years old and up. Further details are available at www.jamesbaye.com.
