Stuff the bus, feed the hungry

B.C. Transit collecting food for Mustard Seed

The Mustard Seed food bank is hoping an entire double-decker B.C. Transit bus can be stuffed with enough non-perishable food to stock its shelves for the summer.

Last year’s Stuff the Bus event generated more than $10,000 in cash and food. Organizers hope to raise $15,000 worth today and Saturday (June 17 and 18), to help feed the more than 7,000 people who rely on the food bank each month.

From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days, cash and non-perishable food can be dropped off at Save-On-Foods, 3510 Blanshard St.
