Victoria hotel lays holiday tracks for Esquimalt's Rainbow Kitchen

Parkside Hotel & Spa brings back The Parkside Express - Festive Tracks of Giving Nov. 23 through Jan. 5

For the second consecutive holiday season a Victoria atrium leans on nostalgia to raise funds for a critical community support.

The Parkside Hotel and Spa brings back The Parkside Express – Festive Tracks of Giving Nov. 23 through Jan. 5, 2025 – inviting neighbours and guests to join in the holiday spirit.

“The Parkside Express has become a cherished holiday tradition for our community, and we're thrilled to bring it back this year. It's not just about celebrating the season – it's about coming together to support a cause that makes a real difference in the lives of our neighbours. We look forward to welcoming everyone to enjoy the magic and to contribute to the important work of Rainbow Kitchen,” hotel GM Trina White said.

Decked out as a holiday wonderland, the atrium and lobby aim for nostalgic charm with multiple model Christmas trains circling a quaint village. A grand Christmas tree provides a stunning backdrop for images.

Tap-to-donate stations throughout the experience allow visitors to easily support the Rainbow Kitchen, a hub for food security programming in Victoria, providing free hot meals and facilitating food sharing to anyone in need.

“We are immensely grateful for The Parkside Hotel & Spa’s continued support as we celebrate the second year of this vital fundraiser,” executive director Patrick Jawes said in a news release. “Their dedication ensures the people that we serve receive essential services each weekday, fostering care, dignity, and compassion with every meal provided.”

Christmas 'Believe' bell ornaments will also be available for purchase with further proceeds supporting Rainbow Kitchen's programs.
