Victoria’s Hillside Shopping Centre is once again gearing up for a night of festive philanthropy at its annual premier event, Night of Lights.
Held at the shopping centre on Nov. 19, the event gives shoppers a chance to start their holiday shopping while enjoying in-store discounts, food and beverage, live entertainment and over $10,000 door prizes including five $1,000 shopping sprees. But amidst all the flurry of fun, the purpose is to support local charities.
Hillside Centre is providing 15,000 tickets to over 53 non-profit groups, school PAC committees and sporting organizations who then sell the tickets for $5 and keep 100 per cent of the proceeds. Tickets are also being sold at Hillside Centre’s Guest Services with all proceeds going to BC Children’s Hospital.
“There is always a tremendous amount of interest in the event. There is no financial risk to the participating groups. They sell the tickets, keep the $5 and Hillside Centre hosts a fun evening. So really, why not?” said Hillside Centre marketing director Michelle Paget in a press release.
On Nov. 19, ticket holders will get exclusive access to the shopping centre at 6 p.m. with access to more than 100 shops including Walmart, Marshalls, Canadian Tire, Shoppers Drug Mart, Dollarama, Thrifty Foods, Bolen Books and Sport Chek/Atmosphere.
