Victoria offering free emergency preparedness workshops

Workshops held on Jan. 20, Feb. 17 and Feb. 19 throughout the community

The Victoria Emergency Management Agency will offer free emergency preparedness workshops over the next two months.

Workshop attendees will learn about the hazards that can affect Victoria, what to include in their home and vehicle emergency kits, what they can do to protect their home from an earthquake, and how to reunite with oved ones after a disaster.

Workshops are held

• Tuesday, Jan. 20, 7 to 9 p.m., at James Bay New Horizons, 234 Menzies St.

• Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1 to 3 p.m., Victoria City Hall, Antechamber, Douglas Street and Pandora Avenue.

• Thursday, Feb. 19, 7 to 9 p.m., Burnside Gorge Community Centre, 471 Cecelia Rd.
