Elder abuse can take many forms, from neglect to mistreatment to financial and has a negative impact on the physical and emotional well-being of a vulnerable segment of our communities.
To help prevent elder abuse and teach how to recognize its symptoms, a free workshop is being offered by Victoria Silver Threads on Tuesday, Feb. 11. The workshop will be facilitated by Island Health. Family, friends, care providers and seniors are encouraged to attend. Pre-register by calling 250-388-4268. The workshop runs from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at 1728 Douglas St.
