Victoria Dragon Boat Festival takes place in the Inner Harbour from Aug. 15 to 17, and volunteers are needed for traffic, information, food service and other fun tasks.

Oaklands Community Centre seeks Wednesday evening assistance through the summer to set up and clean up at the farmers market. Some roles require lifting and carrying.

AIDS Vancouver Island requires a writer/researcher to support an established curriculum outline on health and safer use of drugs for its Street School.

Habitat Acquisition Trust seeks a grant writer to apply for environmental grants and foundation support. Option to work from home or at the trust office.

Greater Victoria Public Library needs Teen Reading Buddies age 13 and up with fluent English skills to assist children in grades 2 to 4 with literacy activities for a week in the summer.

Gorge Road Hospital is looking for a choir volunteer to direct sing-a-long sessions with senior residents and encourage participation. DVDs can be used for accompaniment if the volunteer does not play the piano.

James Bay Community Project would appreciate toy washers to keep children’s toys clean and disinfected, Monday or Wednesday from 8 to 9 am.

Sidney Classical Orchestra is seeking new board members with a background in music or business. Of particular interest is experience in fundraising and grant research, as well as marketing, public relations, or strategic planning.
