Best of the City allows residents to vote for their favourite businesses and hot spots in Greater Victoria. Hosted by Black Press Media, this year it features 128 categories, ranging from sports and recreation to resorts, and from best Sunday brunch to leisure and shopping. There’s so much to choose from that there’s bound to be a shop, restaurant or service that you would like to support!
This year’s lineup includes many new categories including Best Local Band, Best Dry Cleaner, and Best Korean Restaurant. The annual awards mark their 28th year in Greater Victoria, and the list just keeps growing.
Does a visit to your local dentist make you smile? Is there a jeweller in Victoria that dazzles you? Here’s your chance to vote for them. Do you have a go-to pub or brewery that you think is the best? Or a memorable whale watching tour that you want to vote for? There are so many local businesses that make living in Victoria great, and this contest lets the community vote on which ones they think are the best.

Maybe there’s an auto shop that you think is outstanding, or a cleaning service that always goes that extra mile. Perhaps you’ve been singing the praises of your local musical instrument store, or a local pet groomer that always leaves your pooch looking fabulous. Here’s your chance to do your part to help these businesses be recognized.
Residents of Victoria can help their favourite businesses and locations stand out and be seen by submitting nominations online. First, second, and third place finalists will be featured and celebrated in a publication this summer that will show the full list of categories as well as feature stories on some of the winners.
TO ENTER: Nominate and vote on a minimum of 10 of your favourite businesses in Greater Victoria. You may vote or nominate once per category. All participants will be entered into a draw to win an Explore Victoria Prize Pack Valued at $800!
The contest will run from April 1 until midnight on May 15.
