The same people sifting through Valentine’s Day cards on Feb. 14 might be on the hunt for a last minute Valentine’s Day dinner.

But out of 14 popular Victoria restaurants, only five have open tables Thursday night.

Not surprisingly, Saveur, one of Victoria’s “most romantic restaurants” is completely booked up, but another winner, Summit Restaurant, has openings for two at 5:45 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Summit Restaurant is located off the Malahat at the Villa Eyrie Resort.

Italian “soul food” restaurant Zambris has three spots available for two: one at 6:30 p.m., 9:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Zambris is located at 820 Yates Street and accepts reservations online.

The Marriot’s LURE Restaurant and Bar, located in Victoria’s inner harbour, might have room for guests after 9:30 p.m. Diners can call 250-360-5873 to check for availability.

10 Acres Bistro, a locally-sourced and sustainable eatery located at 611 Courtney St., has spots available from 5:30 p.m. onward. But its sister restaurant, 10 Acres Kitchen, only has reservations starting at 9 p.m.

Those seeking a fancier evening can still snag a spot at Q at the Empress, which has an opening for two at 9 p.m.

If all else fails, last-minute diners can try their luck at tapas and wine bar Bodega at 1210 Broad Street or at Brasserie L’ecole at 1715 Government Street, where guests are sat on a first-come, first-serve basis.
