The event, a joint performance between Ballet Victoria and the Victoria Symphony, features graceful ballet-style waltzes that adds visual beauty to orchestral music.

Conducted by Giuseppe Pietraroia, Ballet Meets Broadway celebrates the music of Kander & Ebb, Cole Porter, Loewe, Bernstein, Rogdgers, Flahtery and Hamlisch. Selections from Kiss Me Kate, Carousel, A Chorus Line and Chicago are also part of the performance.

“Ballet Meets Broadway promises to be filled with fun, laughs and good times,” said Paul Destrooper, Ballet Victoria artistic director. “A series of vignettes set to iconic Broadway tunes will evoke the world of Broadway and transport the audience to different times in their lives through dance and music.”

Performances take place on Friday, Nov. 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. There is also a matinee on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m.
