Jewish music in the air

The Jewish Community Choir of Victoria will present An Evening of Jewish Music on July 4

The Jewish Community Choir of Victoria will present An Evening of Jewish Music on July 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Congregation Emanu-El synagogue,1461 Blanshard St.

The choir will perform music from all periods and places of Jewish culture, from East to West, ancient to modern, synagogue to stage, from prayer to jazz. The concert is a fundraiser with partial proceeds offered to the restoration ofthe heritage synagogue at which the choir rehearses. All are welcome and admission is by donation, with a suggested donation of $15.

The Jewish Community Choir welcomes singers of all voices and faiths. The choir meets regularly from October to June. For more information on the concert or the choir please contact Carol Sokoloff, casjazz@islandnet.com or 250-385-3378.
