UVic women’s choir performing benefit for earthquake victims

This Sunday (April 3), the University of Victoria’s Philomela Women’s Choir performs in the Philip T. Young Recital Hall on campus.

The concert, called “Sacred and Secular,” will be directed by Dr. Mary Kennedy and showcases Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater,” Whitacre’s “Lux Arumque,” Rickard’s “Wreck We Em” and seasonal spring music.

Showtime is 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 ($10 for students and seniors) and are available at the university box office or by calling 250-721-8480.

Proceeds from the performance will go to the Red Cross for humanitarian aid in earthquake-ravaged Japan. For more information on the concert, call 250-652-5392.
