The advisory is in place until CRD issues a notice

Users of the Wilderness Mountin Water System in East Sooke are asked to boil water until further notice.

In consultation with Island Health, the Capital Regional District has issued a boil water advisory for the Wilderness Mountain Water System in East Sooke.

The CRD says water quality may have been compromised due to high turbidity water originating from Wilfred Reservoir. As a precaution, the advisory is in effect until flushing and water samples indicate the water quality no longer poses a risk to public health.

The boil water advisory will be removed when Island Heath is satisfied that the drinking water does not pose a health concern and issues a notice at which time the impacted residents will be notified. During the water advisory household tap water may be disinfected by boiling it vigorously for one minute.
