Winds and waves send vessels into the shore in North Saanich

Stormy weather Monday and Tuesday had some predictable results on the Saanich Peninsula

As the wind picked up along the coastline of the Saanich Peninsula this week, thee were some predictable results.

As pair of boats — one a small dingy and the other a sailboat — washed ashore at North Saanich’s Nymph Point Park between Monday and Tuesday. The sailboat, according to a marina worker at the scene Tuesday, said it’s owned by someone and will be rescued and put back in place.

The dingy appears older and may have been around a bit longer.

During times of high winds around the Saanich Peninsula, there is a good chance boats can be torn from their moorings and end up on the rocks or gravelly beaches in the area.
