Body found in home engulfed by ‘suspicious’ fire: Kelowna RCMP

Body found following 'suspicious' fire: police

KELOWNA, B.C. — Police say a body has been found following a suspicious fire at a home in Kelowna, B.C.

Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey with Kelowna RCMP says in a release that emergency crews were called for reports of a fire early Saturday morning and they arrived to find the home fully engulfed.

He says the structure was deemed unsafe and fire crews fought the flames from outside.

The fire department called police to help investigate the blaze and a body was found inside the home.

O’Donaghey says the death and circumstances surrounding the fire are considered to be suspicious, and police, the fire department and the BC Coroners Service are all investigating.

No details have been released about the person found dead inside the home. (The Kelowna Daily Courier)
