Saanich police say nobody was seriously hurt in a remarkable crash around 2:15 a.m. on Saturday when a motorcycle rear-ended a car on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Upon impact the car spun into the centre median, while the motorcycle tumbled along the highway for another 75 metres, said Sgt. Dean Jantzen.

Officers interviewed the 21-year-old motorcyclist, who police say smelled of alcohol, and administered a roadside breathalyzer, which he failed. He was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and the wrecked bike was impounded.
