Automated calls regarding Victoria News “legitimate”

An effort to evaluate how thoroughly the Victoria News is reaching its readers is to be the subject of an automated telephone audit.

An effort to evaluate how thoroughly the Victoria News is reaching its readers is to be the subject of an automated telephone audit.

While the calls will be coming from a U.S.-based phone number, vice president of circulation Marilou Pasion, said the survey of Victoria households is not spam.

It’s part of a Victoria-wide circulation survey for Black Press from April 3 to 10.

Respondents will be asked if they regularly receive a free copy of the Victoria News; those who don’t will be asked if anyone in their household has ever asked that delivery be stopped.

“Live” follow-up calls will be made to households where there is no answer or a hang-up.
