Todd Nickless, a BC Ferries worker in northern B.C. has shared photographs of the icy reality of MV Nimpkish’s weekend sailing from Ocean Falls to Bella Coola.
BC Ferries Public Affairs Executive Director Deborah Marshall says the accumulation of sea spray and ice was among the most amazing she has seen.
Temperatures in the area dropped below – 17.5 Celcius which kept ferry crews busy keeping radar, navigation, and life-saving equipment in working order. Equally as important is providing a safe experience for passengers loading and off-loading the vessel.
