Body found in Goldstream park

West Shore RCMP, coroner say foul play unlikely after body found in sleeping bag near Goldstream campground

The coroner’s office is investigating after a man was found dead in Goldstream Park yesterday (Dec. 8).

West Shore RCMP got the call just before noon when someone found a body in a sleeping bag near Goldstream provincial campground, said Const. Sarah Beckett of West Shore RCMP.

“We confirmed the male was deceased and he had been there for a long period of time,” Beckett said.

The forensic identification and coroner services conducted an initial investigation and determined foul play was unlikely.

“We have turned over our investigation to the B.C. Coroner services,” Beckett said. Investigators are still trying to determine the man’s identity.
