Campbell River Crime Stoppers say the suspect in a Nov. 12 gas station robbery disguised himself with a pair of underwear.

Campbell River RCMP are asking for help in finding a suspect dubbed the ‘Underwear Bandit.’

The suspect is a male who wore “what appeared to be a red pair of underwear on his head to disguise himself” during a stickup last month, according to a notice on the Campbell River Crime Stoppers website.

The alleged robbery took place on the evening of Nov. 12 at the Husky gas station on the South Island Highway, according to Crime Stoppers.

The suspect indicated that he had a gun – though none was visible – and demanded cash, the notice said.

“After receiving a sum of cash, the suspect fled on foot and headed in a southbound direction,” according to Crime Stoppers. Campbell River RCMP are asking for information to identify the suspect.
