Charges laid after home invasion incident

Three people were arrested last month in connection to a year-old home invasion.

Two people were assaulted in a residence in the 400-block of Burnside Road on Dec. 22, 2009 when they were robbed by a group of armed and masked men.

In February, a man from Saanich, 19, and a Victoria man, 20, were arrested. Also in February Scott Belcourt, 23, turned himself in to police.

They all face several charges, including impersonating a peace officer, robbery, uttering threats, unlawful confinement and assault with a weapon.

Some items, including a gun used in the attack, were located after the assault.

Police say the Burnside address was targeted but the victims and assailants didn’t know each other.

The home invasion wasn’t drug related.

Police hope to make more arrests.
