Colwood works with public on sewage plan

Colwood residents can give input on localized sewage treatment plan

Colwood's quest to create its own sewage treatment plant continues with a public open house Wednesday (April 30) from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Colwood Pentecostal Church gym (2250 Sooke Rd.).

Residents are invited to stop by to learn more about Colwood's approach to the sewage treatment plan and to offer input.

Due to projected costs for residents, the city recently applied for and was approved by the Capital Regional District to build its own sewage treatment facility, separate from a regional facility. The city is now looking at its options for how and where to build the facility, though an area near the park and ride at West Shore Parks and Recreation has been identified as a likely site.

For more information on the open house visit colwood.ca or call director of engineering Michael Baxter at 250-478-5999.
