Cop fundraiser a poor choice for parolee

Victoria police were called and arrested the 32-year-old Campbell River man

A federal inmate on parole picked the wrong drinking hole to break his parole conditions.

A large number of police officers were at Darcy’s Pub on Saturday night  for a Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock fundraiser. Just after midnight, one of them spotted a face he recognized as a man whose parole conditions allowed him to be in Victoria, but didn’t allow him to drink.

Victoria police were called and arrested the 32-year-old Campbell River man. He was returned to prison and his parole was suspended.
