A three-year-old girl walked away from her day care’s field trip this week, and the incident was reported not by the day care, but by a passerby.
On Tuesday, the girl had been wandering by herself in Vic West for 45 minutes before someone found her and called police.
Police called local day cares, and Footprints Academy, located on Fullerton Avenue, said one of its children was missing.
Vancouver Island Health Authority, which regulates Island day cares, is investigating.
