Driver causes chaos through Victoria streets

Langford man faces charges after multiple hit-and-run collisions

A driver left a trail of debris from Hillside Avenue to Pandora Street in an aggressive rampage last night.

Just before 11 p.m., witnesses flagged down a Victoria police unit around the intersection of Douglas and Finlayson streets. The group had seen the driver of a blue Chevy Silverado twice strike a utility pole then drive away.

"The officer quickly caught up to the suspect vehicle and observed it run through two red lights before VicPD vehicles boxed the suspect vehicle in," said Bowen Osoko, VicPD spokesman.

Officers later determined the same vehicle had crashed into a fence and building in the 900-block of Hillside Ave. before leaving the scene there.

A 32-year-old Langford man is being held on charges of impaired driving, dangerous driving and breach of probation.
