Excessive speed in Oak Bay leads to motorcycle impound

Motorcycle impounded, ticket given for going more than double posted speed limit on Beach Drive

A motorcyclist was going twice the speed limit on Beach Drive at 2 p.m. on Sunday (Dec. 3) when Oak Bay Police pulled the 36-year-old Victoria man over. The motorcycle was travelling 87 kms/hr in a posted 40 km/hr zone.

The driver was ticketed for excessive speed and had his motorcycle seized at the scene. The motorcycle is impounded for seven days and the excessive speed fine was $368.
