Fort Street was closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic for about two hours while firefighters put out the blaze. Property damage is estimated at $300,000, while the building is valued at $500,000, said Victoria Fire Battalion Chief Paul Kowalyk.

Sen Zushi opened in 1996.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
