More than $50,000 was raised and close to 11,000 votes were cast during Canada’s National Gingerbread Showcase at the Inn at Laurel Point this holiday season — a tradition that helps support Habitat for Humanity Victoria.

With 10,937 ballots cast during the month of December professional entry, “Dia de los Muertos,” by Lulu Sanchez-Laurel, Lulu’s Edible Art, took home the much coveted People’s Choice Award. Joining Sanchez-Laurel in the winner’s circle was “Special Delivery” by Jennifer Dumont in the amateur category.
