DND plans three-day burn to rid land of invasive species and protect species at risk

Smoke could be in the air over Rocky Point Thursday and Friday.

The Department of National Defence will burn some of the invasive plants, including gorse and Scotch broom, cleared from 4.5 hectares of it’s Rocky Point property.

The controlled burning is scheduled for Dec. 12 to 14 depending on the weather and ventilation index.
