Local organizations are hoping to boost the confidence of seniors riding bikes as part of a new program this weekend.

The Introduction to Bike Freedom +55 Older Adults Bike Skills program is for adults over the age of 55, who are looking to improve their cycling skills. The course kicks off with an introductory workshop, which will include information useful for people interested in becoming more active on their bikes.

There are three levels to the course and participants can start at the level suitable for the ability and experience.

The program takes place on Saturday, April 8 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fairfield-Gonzales Community Centre (1130 Fairfield Rd.) The introductory workshop is free, but each course following that is $25.
