Lt.-Gov. Judith Guichon wil be among the dignitaries during the National Day of Honour ceremony at CFB Esquimalt on Friday (May 9).
The ceremony will recognize those who fell, fought and contributed to Canada’s mission in Afghanistan.
Over the 12-year campaign, more than 40,000 Canadian Armed Forces members served in Afghanistan, the largest number of service men and women overseas since the Second World War.
The ceremony begins at 9:45 a.m. in front of the Wall of Valour, located below the Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt Wardroom.
