Collision near pub snarls traffic for a time on Old Island Highway

A late-afternoon collision between a car and motorcycle near the Six Mile Pub on Monday sent the rider to hospital and snarled traffic heading in and out of View Royal.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with minor injuries, after being struck as he travelled west on Old Island Highway at around 3:50 p.m. The car driver was turning left onto Six Mile Road and cut into the pathway of the bike.

The driver of the vehicle was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way.
