The Canadian Navy's sail training ship HMCS Oriole was slowly lowered into the water of Victoria's harbour during a relaunch after undergoing a major refit at the Point Hope Shipyard.

The ship, originally launched as a private yacht in 1921, was commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy 60 years ago in Halifax and transferred to the Pacific Fleet in 1962. The ship will celebrate its Diamond jubilee this summer.
