A motion to provide Esquimalt councillors' spouses and partners with free recreational passes was defeated Monday.
Coun. Robert McKie brought the motion forward, but other councillors thought it could open the door to township staff requesting the same benefit for their partners.
Mayor Barb Desjardins said the issue may be revisited at a future parks and recreation committee meeting.
