B.C. Anglicans are celebrating a new bishop today.

Victoria's Logan McMenamie, dean of Christ Church Cathedral was consecrated and installed as the 13th bishop of the Anglican Diocese of B.C. on March 2.

Attending the service were clergy from Vancouver Island,  and bishops from across Canada, as well as Archbishop Fred Hiltz, primate of the Anglican Church of Canada and The Most Rev. John Privett, archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of B.C.

The service included a mix of music that honoured both the new bishop's Celtic heritage and First Nations culture.

The gospel was read from a copy of the St. John Illuminated Bible, loaned especially for the occasion.
