Open house on shooting range returning to parkland

The CRD is remediating a former shooting range at Thetis Lake Regional Park. The goal is to restore it back to naturalized parkland.

The Capital Regional District is hosting an open house on the Thetis Lake remediation project.

The CRD is remediating a former shooting range at Thetis Lake Regional Park. The goal is to restore it back to naturalized parkland.

The first stages of remediation will begin this month and be completed by the end of December.

The remediation work will include installing groundwater wells, investigating the extent of contamination, dismantling soil berms and determining the areas future use.

The open house will be held at Strawberry Vale Community Hall, 11 High  St. Aug. 8, 4 to 7 p.m.
