Pacific Fleet command changes hands

Commodore Scott Bishop takes over from Commodore Bob Auchterlonie

Command of Canadian Fleet Pacific changed hands Wednesday from Commodore Scott Bishop to Commodore Bob Auchterlonie during a ceremony held at HMC Dockyard.

Bishop took command in August 2012 and led the Pacific Fleet this year both in local and international waters.

Auchterlonie assumes his appointment as commander of Canadian Fleet Pacific following a year as commander of CFB Esquimalt.

Canadian Fleet Pacific’s mission is to generate and operate combat-capable multipurpose maritime forces to meet Canada’s defence objectives. The primary objectives in fulfilling this mission include providing well-maintained ships and highly trained personnel.
