PHOTOS: Crane needed to lift van stuck by outdoor fountain in Victoria

A work van got stuck after driving onto a property behind the B.C. Legislature

A van fell through a tiled floor outside of the development at 550 Michigan Ave. on Tuesday, causing damage to the tiles and underground infrastructure.

The white work van had to be lifted with a crane off of the property after it drove too close to a nearby water feature.

The incident happened at the unfinished Capital Park project, a mixed-use development built by Concert Properties and Jawl Properties Ltd.

“Unfortunately, a van entered an area not for vehicular traffic,” said Concert Properties corporate communications director, Eduarda Hodgins in an emailed statement. “It was removed to minimize damage. No injuries.”

Jawl Properties did not reply at time of publication, and costs associated with damages could not be confirmed.
