Pit bull attacks dog in Langford

A basset hound was attacked by a pit bull terrier in Langford, today (April 24).

A basset hound was attacked by a pit bull terrier in Langford on Wednesday.

West Shore RCMP responded to the call on the 2500 block of Rainville Rd.

A 19-year-old woman had been walking her basset hound when the attack occurred. The pit bull injured the other dog’s neck area, but the extent of the injuries are unknown. The basest hound was taken to the veterinarian.

Witnesses told RCMP officers on scene the pit bull had been walking alone in the neighbourhood.

RCMP have contacted the pit bull’s owners and the investigation has been turned over to the Capital Regional District  Animal Control.
