Police hunt for suspect after man assaulted on Douglas Street

Late morning Tuesday attack took place in 2600-block between Bay and Hillside

VicPD continue to search for a suspect in an assault with a weapon that was reported as happening around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday in the 2600-block of Douglas Street.

By the time police reached the scene, bystanders were attending to the male victim, who suffered non life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The search began for another man, described as standing five foot two and having a medium build, wearing a blue top, brown pants and carrying a red skateboard. The suspect fled the scene and was last seen in the 700-block of Hillside Avenue between Douglas and Blanshard streets.
