Police warn businesses of counterfeit American money in Victoria

VicPd is warning local businesses to check customers’ cash payments for counterfeit money.

Police received a call Nov. 27 reporting a man and woman were making counterfeit American money at a location in the 800-block of Fort Street. According to VicPD, suspects were caught cutting printed bills in a parking lot and a total of $1,890 fake USD was seized. Police are recommending charges of making and possessing counterfeit money.

The investigation is ongoing, and officers are working with the United States Secret Service.
