The provincial government issued a $48,000 grant from its Bike B.C. program to fund 50 per cent of the cost of installing bike lanes along portions of Johnson, Begbie and Shelbourne streets. The city will cover the remaining cost of the project.
The province also contributed more than $765,000 to improvements on the E&N Rail Trail.
