People were pouring in to the Saanich Fairground Sunday afternoon to witness one of Canada's most famous spectacles.
The RCMP Musical Ride held its last event on Vancouver Island over the weekend, culminating an a show in front of a full house at the Saanich Fairground in Central Saanich Sunday afternoon. The Ride began its Island tour Aug. 3 and 4 in Parksville, performed on the beach in Port Hardy and wrapped up their Island visit in Central Saanich. They continue their tour schedule in North Vancouver on Aug. 21, with additional dates in the lower mainland before ending in High River, Alberta on Sept. 9.
The weekend's Ride in Central Saanich was hosted by the Sooke Lions Club and welcomed support from local and other regional clubs.
The riders and their horses delighted the crowd and posed for photos throughout the day.
