Red Deer runner strides into Victoria to end cross-Canada fundraiser run

Curtis Hargrove is raising money for The Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton

Red Deer, Alta. resident Curtis Hargrove, who began his epic run across Canada May 4, 2012 but took time off to work through a couple of deaths in his family, wound up his journey in Victoria on Friday.

As he strode the final steps of his journey on Douglas Street toward Mile 0, Hargrove was flanked by Mark Kirby, whom he met while running through Fredericton., N.B., and Saanich marathoner Yana Hempler, who recently completed a run down Vancouver Island.

Hargrove has been raising money for The Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton. Find more information about his run and the cause on Facebook at Curtis Hargrove’s Run Across Canada for Cancer.
