Saanich police seek hit and run driver

Sidney family injured after truck crosses centre line on West Saanich Road, sideswipes their vehicle

Saanich police are looking for a truck and its driver after a hit and run Thursday night left three women injured.

Around 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 16 a black Ford F150 travelling southbound on West Saanich Road crossed the centre line near Interurban Road, and sideswiped a northbound Mazda sedan.

A Sidney family – a mother and her teenage daughters – in the Mazda were all taken to Victoria General Hospital with whiplash injuries.

Police are now seeking the driver of the Ford truck, who didn't stay at the scene of the accident. The truck sustained significant damage along the driver's side, police say.

Saanich police ask anyone with information to call detectives at 250-475-4321 or Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
